Town of Silverthorne, Colorado

Silverthorne is the up and coming town in Summit in my opinion.

The Town of Silverthorne is a Home Rule Municipality that is the second most populous town in Summit County, Colorado. According to 2010 Census, the population of the city is 3,887. Silverthorne served as a makeshift camp for workers during the construction of the Dillon Reservoir from 1961-1963, and later as a stop along Interstate 70. It was eventually incorporated on April 5, 1967.

Silverthorne is located at 8,730 feet above sea level (2661 meters). The town is situated between the Gore Range to the west and the Continental Divide to the east. The two most visible mountains are Buffalo and Red Mountains. Also surrounding the valley are Ptarmigan, Tenderfoot, and Ten Mile Peaks.

The Pavilion

Owned and operated by the Town of Silverthorne, the Pavilion opened its doors in 2001 as an affordable, stylish venue to serve the local community and visitors. They take pride in presenting their guests with a tasteful, inviting facility whether you're hosting a wedding, reunion, or sales meeting, your guests are sure to appreciate the Pavilion's location.

The Pavilion sits at the edge of the famed Blue River in the heart of the Town Center and boasts nearly 12,000 square feet of space.

With a flexible, open floor plan, they are able to arrange furniture to accommodate the size and style of your party, and also to convey your personal tastes and style.

Silverthorne Rec Center

Visitors and residents alike will enjoy the 65,000 square foot Recreation Center. Purchase a daily admission to sample this facility for the day, or get a better deal by becoming a member.

Once inside, you can splash in 4 pools, slide down one of 3 slides, play in the gym, run on the track, work out in the cardio or free weight rooms, or challenge yourself by taking a drop-in fitness class.

If you prefer a more relaxing option treat yourself to soak in the hot tub, relax in the sauna or steam room, or just relax in the lobby while catching up with friends or surfing the internet using free wi-fi. For more information call 970-262-7370, Fax 970-468-8158.

The Blue River

Considered by many to be the heart and soul of Silverthorne, the Blue River winds its way through the length of the Town of Silverthorne. Waters designated as "Gold Medal" by the Colorado Wildlife Commission are those considered to provide outstanding angling opportunities for large trout.

These designations are given out sparingly and represent the highest quality aquatic habitat in Colorado. Special regulations may be required to maintain gold medal quality in these waters. There are over 9,000 miles of trout streams in Colorado.

Out of this total only 167.8 miles are currently designated as Gold Medal streams, and Silverthorne is fortunate to have several miles located in Town.

Lower Blue

This area is made up of predominately larger parcels of land, horse property, and single family homes going north out of Silverthorne.

Being a "horse person" and stand up paddleboarder, I have interest and knowledge in this area, including, but definitely not limited to, horse property, water rights and river access.

They don't call it the banana belt for no reason! Let me show you why.

Urban Renewal

The Town of Silverthorne has many shopping options including but not limited to the Silverthorne Factory outlets. There are also several assorted dining options including the new Bakers Brewery!

Speaking of new, the Town of Silverthorne is looking to do just that – expand from the pavilion area for a new town core. The Town of Silverthorne adopted an update to the Town's 1996 Urban Renewal Plan on February 27, 2013. This plan was updated in order to assist the Town in achieving the long-standing vision of fostering a vibrant and pedestrian-oriented Town Core. The Town of Silverthorne is committed to creating a compact, mixed-use, lively commercial center that will be vibrant and pedestrian-oriented. This commercial center will be a focal point

For the Town and will provide a magnet of activity for residents and visitors alike. Structures will be scaled and oriented towards the pedestrian with design elements, landscaping and proportions that promote a compact and walkable environment. Public improvements, including but not limited to, curb, gutter, sidewalks, and on-street parking will be provided within the Revised Area.

Uses within the Revised Area will include ground floor retail, commercial, restaurant, and entertainment uses with office and residential uses on upper floors. A pedestrian environment will encourage walking between uses and will minimize dependence on the automobile.

This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an amazing town that is coming around as we speak! I am passionate about what is going on in Silverthorne and would love to share in the excitement and any investment opportunities that we can find!
